About Oakesdale Historical Society and McCoy Valley Museum
The museum was founded by the Oakesdale Historical Society in 1988 to celebrate the 100th birthday of the town. The museum is a community project, and all the contents were donated or loaned by the local people.
Featured in the museum are many antiques and artifacts from the early years of the railroad, businesses , and the people that started it all. There is a library with books, journals, and pictorials depicting the history of the town and Steptoe Butte State Park.
