Oakesdale Historical Society and
the McCoy Valley Museum
Welcome to the Oakesdale Historical Society
The museum was founded by the Oakesdale Historical Society in 1988 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the towns founding. The museum is a community project , all contents were donated or loaned by local residents.
Featured in the museum are many antiques and artifacts from the early years of the railroad, businesses and people that started it all. There are books, journals and pectoral's depicting the history of the town and Steptoe Butte State Park.
The Mc Coy Valley Museum represents the dedicated effort of concerned citizens to preserve and interpret our rich agricultural history. The museum is located in Oakesdale, Washington, in the heart of the Palouse region. Once the junction of three major railroads; The Great Northern, The Northern Pacific, and the Union Pacific, Oakesdale is now a picturesque farming community surrounded by rolling wheat fields.
Membership meetings are the 2nd Wednesday of every month, 7pm, at the museum.
